International students arrive at Harper Adams University.

A new group of international students have arrived at Harper Adams.

Some of them are studying at the university as part of an exchange programme, with Harper Adams undergraduate students now attending their institutions for a term.

One of the students, Tyra Jenkins, 20, from Houston, Texas, in the United States of America, said: “Harper Adams is an amazing institution with pioneering work in the agriculture industry.

“It’s been rewarding to have the opportunity to witness this research and development in another country first hand. Sustainability is a global problem and studying here has given me a better perspective on how we produce our food and care for our animals.

“I hope to bring what I’ve learned back to Cornell and carry it with me as I continue my career in animal science in the agriculture industry.

“I’m looking forward to learning more about different production techniques and research projects here. I want to take this chance to learn as much as possible about different agricultural technologies, farming methods, and veterinary medicine.  

“The highlight of my time here has been the little moments that will impact my life forever; even things as simple as going to the movies with friends or going to the SU events.

“Compared to Cornell, Harper is a very small school, but it has enough spirit to make up for its size. Every individual here has a story and something that makes them unique. The small size has allowed me to get to know people on a more personal level.

“I’ve enjoyed speaking with young farmers and learning more about their different production methods and sharing what knowledge I have about America.

“It’s been an eye opening experience talking with veterinary nursing and veterinary physiotherapy students about different clinical practices.

“I’ve enjoyed every moment here at Harper. I was extremely nervous coming here but the warmth and energy of this school has made me feel right at home.”
